
According to the 2017 Mercer Quality of Life Survey that was released in March 2017, four cities in Canada were among the top twenty-five in the world for quality of life.
The cities that ranked at the top were Montreal #23, Ottawa #18, Toronto #16, and Vancouver #5.

The categories on the survey include education and schools; political and social environment; recreational opportunities; economic environment; housing; natural environment; health and medical issues; availability of consumer goods; socio-cultural environment; and transportation and public service.
